Dad Says Hes Embarrassed To Be Seen With Daughter, Then She Changes Her Lifestyle

Maddy Ghorab, a law student from Los Angeles, CA, tipped the scales at 295 pounds. She had a series of health issues. Some days, it was so difficult for her to walk that she actually skipped class.

But it was a comment from her dad that compelled her to change her life. He said he was embarrassed to be seen with her.

“One day my dad said ‘I’m embarrassed to go out with you. Not because you’re fat, because your weight shows people that you don’t care about yourself and you don’t value your body or life,’” Maddy shared with her Instagram following, then adding that she and her dad have a very blunt and honest relationship. While the comment sounded harsh, she appreciated it because it helped her make the decision to change her life with weight loss surgery.

“I weighed as much as a baby elephant,” Ghorab revealed to her Instagram following. “I wasn’t living.”

Ghorab has now lost a total of 126 pounds. Scroll down to see her stunning transformation and the story behind her inspiring weight loss.

At her heaviest, Maddy weighed in at 295 pounds.

Maddy knew her health was declining and feared she would die, but she decided to change her life for good when her own father told her he was embarrassed to be seen in public with her.

Maddy frankly shares her story on Instagram. Her account, @eff_being_fat, has amassed over 80,000 followers.

“On November 16, 2015 I had the gastric sleeve weightloss surgery THE BEST decision I have ever made in my life!”

Maddy doesn’t just share honest body transformation photos – she also shows the way her face has changed so that her followers can see how much weightloss had improved her life.

“If you knew how much easier life will become, you wouldn’t wait till Monday, or next month, or for the new year,” Maddy encourages her community.

While Maddy opted for surgery, she encourages her followers to find what works for them and to stick to it. On her one year “surgeversary,” she wrote: “Find what works for you and follow through with it. It doesn’t matter how you do it, it doesn’t matter what anyone says. Keep your mouth shut, your head high, and handle your sh*t. You don’t need to respond or explain yourself to anyone.”

In her latest post, Maddy credits her parents for supporting her during this transformation. By her own admission, weight loss surgery does not make weight loss any easier! It’s still work, and she was lucky to have her parents by her side.
